Hello all fellow chicken keepers, okay we don't actually have chickens yet but have plans to get some very soon. My son has chosen poultry as his 4-H project and I love the idea of fresh eggs, so we will be sharing a coop. I have been very busy learning everything I can about how to make a good coop/run for the amount we hope to be adding soon, 6 chickens is our goal; 4 for Mom and 2 for the project. So far it looks like it will be quite challenging to do since my city wants to insist it not allowed, I have a copy of the law says it is, so as soon as we get through that mess we will build our coop and start having fresh eggs. Can't wait to see what else I learn. I am also excited to say even the hubs is getting on board, not with chickens but sounds like we will also be having rabbits soon too.
and Welcome to BYC! Good luck with getting your chickens allowed in your city. You might want to check out your state thread in the Where Am I Where Are You forum and the Laws and Ordinances forum if somebody from your city has chickens or is working to get them allowed.
