Hello, I am new and hope I am posting in the correct area!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I had chickens many years ago as a teenager then again in my mid 20's but it's been awhile! My current chickens have been with us for 12 days.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I have 7 right now. 6 are about 5.5 months and one is a couple of years old.

(3) What breeds do you have?

3 are Australopes, I Rhode Island Red, 1 Sussex (I think) a possible Barnevelder and one I have no idea.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

Googling chicken info

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Yoga, gardening, hiking, reading

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I have 5 kids, 3 grown and married, a 16 year old and a 7 year old still at home. I have 5 dogs, too. I am a yoga therapist. I am very much enjoying having chickens again.

Glad to have you with us!!! That sounds like you have a nice collection of animals. Do you have any pics of your hens or maybe your coop? We love pictures!!!

Yeah funny how if you do any google/bing search for anything chicken related BYC always pops up. Lots of friendly folks and TONS of good info. Hope to see you around!

We're glad to have you! If you post some pictures of your birds that you're unsure of the breed on, I'm sure we'll be able to help identify them. It sounds like you have a nice little flock.
