Its been a long time since I had chickens and I was an equal opportunity owner, meaning I had a very mixed flock. I ended up with a couple dozen because I didn't have the heart to eat or kill my chickens. We sold them when the bird flu thing was scary. I am interested in starting a much smaller flock. I still have to see if my township will allow. But very interested in Buff Orpintons.

I don't have Buff Orps. but I do have a mix of mostly reds, Barred Rocks, and Easter Eggers. Hope your township allows you to have some chickens and you get to enjoy a flock again.

Most feed stores carry chicks this time of year. You can also order chicks on line from hatcheries. Several of them will ship small quantities of chicks. Also check your state thread here and chat with others in your area to see where they get their birds.
