I am a reformed city girl who recently got her very first chicks! They are 4 weeks old now, and coming along wonderfully! (I think) I did lose one baby, but the rest are growing like little weeds! I have 4 Rhode Island Reds and 1 Black Australorp. Right now they are living in our living room, in a very nice "Baby Hen House" that my husband made for them. We are in the process of moving to a brand new home with lots of room for them to range, once they are old enough.
I have done tons of reading on the care of chickens, but have absolutely no practical experience. Until I purchased these darlings, the only chicken I had ever seen was on the shelf in the grocery store, so I am sure I will have tons of questions!

and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about the chick you lost, glad the rest of them are doing well for you! Good luck with the move and your new home, sounds like you are going to have a busy summer!
