My name is Lindsey. About a year ago, a family member was making a move, and we were asked to take their chickens. A LOT of chickens! We were reluctant to say the least and we ended up with so many chickens that we were completely overwhelmed. We decided we needed to rehome them asap. Well, it became clear that my then 3 year old daughter loved the chickens. So we decided, we wouldn't rehome all of them (there were 25!). We kept 3, and built a beautiful two story coupe in our back yard. We just recently have tried our hand at babies. Two Rhode Island Reds. One I am thinking might be a Roo, which we are not zoned for where we live and will unfortunately have to be rehomed, and the other a pullet. I have done so much research on chickens and feel like I can never learn too much. So I hope to get some advice and learn a thing or two while I'm here. Our adult girls are big and beautiful and are great layers! We have an easter egger, australorp (I think), and the two baby Rhode Island Reds.

and Welcome To BYC!
