Hello, I'm new to BYC.
I own 2 lovely Chooks, a Welsummer Hen called Lady Marigold and a Brahma Hen called Lovey.
I also own 2 Mandarin Drakes, Mr.PewwPeww and Mr.ColourfulRainbowPants.

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. The first chickens I have had (about 5 decades ago) were Light Brahmas and I love the chocolate eggs of the Welsummers. I'm a chook person and don't know a lot about ducks (although I've had a few), but I have to admit that ducklings are the ultimate in cute. If you have any questions regarding your ducks, just post them on our duck section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks, and I'm sure you'll get lots of replies. Good luck with your flock.
Cheers.

Great to have you aboard and welcome to our flock!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sounds like you have a cute little flock!

Michael OShay, I noticed that you said your Welsummers layed brown eggs, however my Welsummer lays white eggs and I am unsure if she could be a crossbreed.

The bird in your picture is not a Welsummer as Welsummer have red earlobes, and they lay very dark brown eggs. I can't see the legs, but your hen appears to be a Brown Leghorn. The coloring on Welsummer and Brown Leghorn hens is very similar, but Brown Leghorns are a lighter breed with white earlobes that lay white eggs. If it's any consolation, Leghorns are typically better layers than Welsummers.
Cheers.

Thanks!
She does look a lot like a Brown Leghorn.
However she has a golden brown speckled back?
