Hi Everyone

I'm from the Sunshine Coast of Essex in the UK

I have kept hens all my life.

I have this year hatched for the first time ever Ducklings & Quail so far from an incubator, what I have learnt very quickly is that humidity is crucial.

I successfully hatched 4 ducklings ~ 2 Runners & 2 Magpies, I also hatched 8 Japanese Quail

I have just purchased 6 Guinea Fowl ~ watch this space

We are in the process of converting our garden over to the new animals, my Hubby calls it the " Farm Yard " Area

In there we have; The Pygmy Goats, The Hens, The Ducks, The Quail, The Guinea Fowl & The Geese.

This area covers approx 60' x 30', it will incorporate a 2 tier pond for the ducks & geese.

Just behind it is the orchard which has our Bee Hives in it.

Next year I shall be hatching several different types of hens to build my existing stock up, I have capacity for 30 hens and at present have 11 [ due to rescuing a few, who were unwanted ].

I hope to hatch these too from my incubator

I have found this site already so helpful and informative ~ Thank you so much for all the useful information
