25? Wow, that's a lot! Does it take much money to keep them all up to health?
I've been very fortunate with their health and there are some things I do that I think helps them stay that way. I do a turnover every 2 years when their lay rate begins slowing down. I order a new batch and when the new batch are close to laying age, I begin either selling the older ones, eating them, or giving them away. When I get the new birds, I don't mix them with the older birds. They have their own separate coop and run. Also, I no longer keep any roosters, so I don't have problems with the boys over-breeding, biting and plucking the feathers from my girls' necks and backs, and battering them. My girls are stress free (other than usual pecking order issues) and are enjoying life without any boys around. I try to take measures to keep them healthy; Marek's vaccination when I order them, proper diet, clean coops and runs, and a roof over the runs to keep the rain off of them.

It is! c:
It's a great place to live and raise chickens, the only threat for them where I live are some of the birds that occasionally come past, the fixes that we've managed to block out of our coop and snake, which the girls themselves are very cautious of.

To everyone else, thank you for your welcome! It means a lot to me, I feel loved ;u;
