Yes they lay! All of ours except the light Sussex x bantams are rescued from auctions. I think they are a little older! We had big eggs when we first got them a month ago and their laying has slowed down now. We are coming into November and we have had some really horrible weather lately so it's no surprise! They are wonderful girls. The one follows me around everywhere and acts more like a dog. When we got this particular pair, one was crawling with lice and had a poorly looking comb. Both looked quite active when we got them (again, out bidded meat man) and got 2 layers for £4 ($5.50). And now they are truly lovely birds!! So satisfactory. Will post some pictures of my flock later

These are my girls! (And boys). Love them I do! Sorry about the quality. The spice girls are the buff Sussex hens, Beverly is the cockerel with yellow legs, chipper the small light Sussex x bantam, Fran the other cockerel, daphne and celeste are the two warrens, Audrey, precila, and Matilda are the leg bars. All sorry cases rescued from the auctions except for Bev, Fran and Chipper. Hopefully will be getting some eggs off them all soon!

Pretty birds, thanks for sharing pictures! We used to long for the day when our youngest 13 chicks would start laying...now we have a total of 16 laying and wonder what to do with all the eggs!

Hasn't really been a 'problem' as we use a lot and a couple of the neighbors get to enjoy them too. Have fun with yours, you have a lovely flock.
