Hi everyone. I'm new to the site and I actually signed up because my mom found a rooster a few months ago. She lives in an apartment in NYC and can't keep him.

He's very docile and sweet. He doesn't really crow a lot, but when he does, she shushes him and he stops! Haha. He likes to lay at her feet and he's the king of the house, but she's very allergic. Is there anyone that would be willing or able to take him? I'm sorry if this isn't the right forum for this! He's got a crooked little talon, but that doesn't stop him from chasing the cat around

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join to our flock. You might try putting an ad in Craigslist, or checking with your local feed store to see if they know anyone who would like to have him. They may even have a bulletin board you can post an ad on. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in re-homing your chicken.

Since he is so sweet and docile and not afraid of cats, I would think he is someone's pet that escaped. Maybe an ad in lost and found in your mom's newspaper would help. in some papers here "found" ads are printed free.

I would also guess with heavy traffic, lots of people etc, that he didn't wonder too far from where he lives.
