Thank you everyone for your warm welcome!
In regards to how she found him, she was walking her dog and saw something moving in a trash bag on the sidewalk. Being ever so brave, and not the least be concerned that it could be rat, she opened the bag and saw this little rooster trying to peck his way out. He was a lot smaller when she found him. We don't believe that he wandered off or belonged to someone that kept him as a pet.
I'm still trying to find a location that will take him in and take care of him. My mom refuses to send him anywhere that she thinks he might be put down or eaten by some crazy person that, "wants a taste of her Maxie". He is sweet and docile because of how she's raised him.
It seems like there are limited animal shelters or organizations that take in wildlife and had have good reviews. One place I'd found seemed like it would be ideal, but after reading reviews of it, I'm not so sure anymore.
20 posts huh? I'll try! I really want to see him go somewhere that he can thrive. He's an amazing little guy.
