Hi, I am new to the site.

We have 10 chickens and two have just started to crow - so we have discovered they are roosters.

We are trying to see what we can do with them as we live in a small neighbourhood and we won't be able to keep them - in the suburbs.

Just trying to work out best options.

Also what age do they begin to mate. Thanks

IMO you should make your decisions to keep or relocate the roos. 2 /8 girls is a high ratio. The hormones are flying even before they lay.
 
Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join to our flock. You might try listing the roosters on Craigslist, or asking at you local feed store if they know anyone who might want them. They may even have a bulletin board you could advertise them on. Also, you check with your local 4H. One of the students might be interested in them. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in re-homing your roosters.
 
Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X3 on seeing about rehoming or separating the extra roos, they will probably start harassing the girls anytime, the roos usually mature faster than the pullets and will chase them around and may injure them if left unchecked.
