Good signs for rooster would be streamer feathers in the tail feathers, bigger, reddening comb, slicked back crest, and outgoing personality.
 
you don't! Silkies are one of the most difficult breeds to sex young. Generally by 4-5 mos. you can be fairly certain of gender. But, for some the only positive answers are when they either lay eggs or crow.

I agree with drumstick diva. Silkies are one of THE hardest breeds to sex. But it's not impossible. Silkiecuddles has given you a good list of indicators. If you post here, we can try and help as well
