After doing hours of research here, I have finally joined! Tonight is the first night our girls (hopefully all girls) are in their coop. They are 9 weeks old…3 Barred Rocks and 3 Ameraucanas. I know, 9 weeks is a bit old. We have had lots of rain, are on our second coop and have plans to complete the run this weekend. This will be a great place to talk chicken without people looking at me funny.

The name you are using is awesome. I should have thought of that. I think the reason I got going on chickens is because I was just that, and empty nester.
Join the club of family and friends looking at you like you are one silly person now. You will learn who you can talk to about chickens..this, and chickens that. Us..here on BYC being most of them!

I love to see the reactions when people discover I have pet chickens, can't figure how they know ( do ya think it is my crazy chicken lady tee?)

…IMO they are the strange ones Why would someone not want their own chickens?

The real fun is when folks show their grandchildren photos, I show them my live IP flock camera...
