I'm a senior citizen now, so I don't have any chickens at the moment...just children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I have had chickens in the past, and have a few storys to tell. I love gardening, and grow things in my apartment. Sooner or later, some of my children will be getting chickens, since our economy is going to cause many to start doing all they can to get by and have a healthier food source. Some of our fondest memories are from when we lived on a farm and had chickens, pigs, horses, dogs and cats. When I was a child, we had chickens in our back yard. This was during the depression, and we had a neighbor who would steal a chicken once in a while
to help feed his large family. I don't remember Daddy ever trying to stop him. Daddy had a job, and we got along ok. I will enjoy reading of the experiences of all who come here, and relive those good days again!

from San Diego! You had the joy of growing up on a farm??!! For most of us our chickens will be the only farming we'll ever experience. It's so much fun!! I'd love to hear some stories from the farm
