Hi, I've come looking for some advice so thought I'd drop by here and say hello before jumping straight in begging for help - would be rude not to lol!
I'm Jo. We gingerly stepped into chicken keeping last year on a very small scale - five laying hens, all hybrids. Despite being told that hybrids don't get broody, one of ours got all maternal and successfully hatched a clutch of four chicks for us in the summer. All girls can you believe??? Two Lavender Leghourns, a Black Orpington and a Cream Legbar, all of whom are now laying too!
A fox got two of our girls a couple of months ago so we now have seven layers.
Interested in incubation so I'll head over to that part of the forum now to ask for tips
