Hi everyone, I'm new to byc! love the community! just wondering what size coop i should get for a flock of 6 chickens?

A general guideline is to provide at least 4 sq ft of floor space per bird in the coop and at least 10 per bird in the run. Having said that, I do wish I had gone bigger.

Get the biggest coop you can afford because you will be getting more chickens.

! Great to have you aboard. Yes, I agree with both Yay Chicks and the Old Chick. 4 sq. ft per bird is recommended but make it bigger for future additions. Also, the run should be about 10 sq feet per bird. Best of luck to you!
