You might want to isolate the chick for a few days too make poop checks a lot easier vs. checking all poop from others.....Most likely any kitchen oil would help, but no more than a few drops on its food soaked in....diareah wont help pass it...fibre will...keep lots of water available

That can help reassure the person, but it stresses the chick. The stress of being alone may be more harmful to the chick than just leaving it alone!

And things can stay in a gizzard for a long time, so the plastic pellet may not come out any time soon. Or it may come out all ground up, where it cannot be recognized. So isolating until you see a particular thing in the poop may not work at all.

Do we think the piece of plastic is actually toxic? If not toxic, and it's not dangerously sharp, then it can just hang out in the gizzard without causing any harm, and come out in its own time.

Being familiar with the airsoft BB's, they are very brightly colored and easily visible, even in small pieces...don't think not being seen is a problem at all...separating causing stress, put several together instead of 1 single....better than with ALL the others searching poop in a large run area....with a LOTTA POOP
...I would want to know the outcome for future possible health related issues.....the larger this chick grows, the more likely it will pass....

M 2 day old chick found a red plastic airsoft bb in the yard and swallowed it as fast as she could! Is there hope for her or is this a death sentence because of her age? Thank you for any information you can give me. Even if it's bad news.

She will be fine mine have done it and it came right back out dont panic you will just have to poop check

9 outta 10 times, if it goes in one end, it'll come out the other. Just keep an eye on them, make sure they're not having problems.
