i must be the WORST chick owner ever! last night i was fixing my chicken pen with a roof and a roll of chicken wire fell on 2 of my barred rock pullets!:th i calmed myself down and lifted the roll, Oakley was totally crushed and breathing heavily, and Juniper had her leg caught. But thank the Lord, no serious injuries to be found! i gave them a Epsom salt soak, some Nutri-drench and some TLC and they are alright today, i gave them a rub down and no broken bones! (i think) and they are both limping on one leg, but i think one sprained its foot and the other might have broke a toe, but they are alright!:love i prayed for them all night!:fl is there anything else i can do? they have been hobbling around, i have watched them eating and drinking, and the have even managed to jump in and out of the nest boxes (they are somewhere over three weeks old, but they like to sleep in there)

I agree with the above post!
Today, I almost shut my silkie chicks head in the coop door! Boy, did I feel HORRIBLE!
We’ve all done these things.
I almost slammed the door on one who decided just for fun she’d stick her foot back out at the very last nanosecond.
Could have easily amputated toes at the very least... possibly much more.
Ugh.
They give me a heart attack some days.

That is sooooooooooooooooo bad DO NOT LET THEM SLEEP IN THERE!!!!!!!! they will make it a habit and they will crack your eggs!!!!!!!!!!

ok, i almost wrapped it, but i cannot figure out what toe it is and many times i have seen people on her say they heal on their own, how would i figure out which toe? i have felt them and i do not feel anything?
