Yes , @mando4mary74 heat can mess with egg laying , but I’ve heard stress is a big factor for soft eggs . If they have everything they need ( layer & calcium available).

Thanks. I wonder how many eggs can be in there, ha ha. I feel so bad for her. She laid normal for a couple of weeks then this happened. We're giving her yogurt with calcium pill in it....hope we figure something soon...There are several laying disorders, but I am really just learning about these things. The closest thing to that seems like impacted oviduct. The oviduct can become stretched or damaged, and eggs can back up. If you continue the calcium and vitamin D, it may clear up. Some people get hormone injections or implants to get their hens to stop laying for a few months to rest the oviduct. That can be too expensive for most of us.
