I have a 2 week old runner duck. It hasn't pooped today at all and I am super worried. I have tried ACV and warm Epsom salt bath and nothing is working. I just want it to be okay:( it is straining to try and get poo out and leaning on things. Is there anything else I can give it? Lactulose maybe? Please help ASAP! Thankyou.

Just so everyone has some more details to better help could you answer these questions?

-What feed are you feeding your duckling?
-Does it have 24/7 access to water?
-Is the water cold, lukewarm, warm?
-Is it the only duckling?
-Has your duckling been given any vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, probiotics or medications?
-How do you know that it hasn't pooped? Have you been with it constantly all day?

At the moment, mashes scrambled egg as advised by a duck rescues, but usually starter crumb and peas. It has access to water 24/7 (deep enough to be able to clear it's eyes). Drinking water is room temp, bathing water was like warm but have given it warm baths to try to relax it's muscles. It is the only duckling. It hasn't been given any of those stated, but it has had sugar water as advised to boost its energy and rehydrate it. I have been with is constantly as I noticed a change in behaviour. Since posting this, it has passed 6 stools, all of which seemed runnier than usual. It still isn't acting itself but it is progress. After a bath and after I have towel dried it, it doesn't seem to want to groom itself like it usually does.

Is it eating the mashed scramble eggs real good?
If it's been drinking water they do have runny poop. They drink alot of water.
Why only one duckling? they just do so much better when they have a buddy. How about a little molasses in the drinking water.

Hello, yes it's eating lots of it and getting excited eating it too. It has been drinking water, the poo is just runnier than usual and causing what I have read as a pastey vent? It was the only one there, but I am able to give it attention etc 24/7 so it will never be alone as such, but once it's abit older we will get one that's the same age as I don't want to have the stress of a baby duckling again. We got it at 6 days old. I will have a look and see if I can get hold of some, hopefully that's something that's available in the UK.

If it has runny poop I’d not give it molasses. This was for constipation. Runny poop is normal for ducks so if it’s eating and drinking normal I wouldn’t use it. Do you have it under a heat source? Too high of heat can cause pasty butt too. 2 weeks old around upper 70’s - 80degrees

I havent given it the molasses. Its not under the heat lamp anymore, but we don't let it drop to low so that it isn't too cold either.
