Hi! So our brown Chinese goose externally pipped 26 hours ago. A lot of shell flaked off and it tore a pretty good size hole in the membrane, enough for half of the beak to extend out. It has not changed position at all. It seems to be breathing a little heavier than before and keeps opening and closing its beak or making a chewing motion. I’m not sure if it’s struggling or still absorbing its yolk. I believe it is malpositioned by the head being turned the wrong way. I will post some pictures sorry they’re not the greatest. I have assisted quail before without a problem and chickens but I’m nervous about this goose egg. Please help me! I’m trying not to panic. Any advice is appreciated!

So I peeled some more shell back over the air sac and I could see some little red blood veins still. I put coconut oil on it and put it back in the incubator. I hope it’s going to be ok.
