I have a 3 month old Silver laced wyandotte that I just noticed is drooling and holding her tail to one side.
"Biscuit" has the tiniest bit of poo stuck in the fluff under her vent, but no diarrhea or abnormal poo in the run anywhere. She ate a grape while I watched, and was muching on crushed ice when I noticed the drool. Is the drooling because it's 102 AGAIN or is there something else I should watch for?
I have 3 sexlinks and 1 Buff orpington housed with her and have no way to separate. They have a 6x3 foot coop with a 10x10 run. They do not free range due to lack of fence and plenty of coyotes and hawks. They are on Layena laying pellets (the others are all older than Biscuit), with oyster shell freechoice, grit, and kitchen treats. (lettuce heels, etc.) come to think of it, they got alot of lettuce last night, could that be it?
All birds were vaccinated at hatchery and bought from same feed store.
Weight feels fine, keel seems good, crop appears normal.
Walks normally, but does hold her tail to one side. When I pet her, she holds it straight.
All 5 birds are losing feathers (molting or heat related, I'm sure) No mites or pests to be seen. Wormed last week with Wazine.
If there's a problem, I need help quick so it doesn't spread.
Thanks
