Help! Accidentally cut my chicken's claws too short. Now it won't stop bleeding!

A chicken that is panting is overheated. On top of injury, this is a dangerous situation. You are at risk of killing her with kindness. May I ask why you gave her a bath? A bleeding animal should not be given a bath. Not meaning to be critical, but she needs to be cooler.

She wasn't panting at the time. It was only the next morning after her bath that she started panting. I've taken her outside a few times and that seemed to help. I'm keeping a close eye on her. Other than that she's much better.

Hello all,

I was cutting my 3 year old Ameraucana hen's claws when I cut it too short and it started bleeding badly. With the help of a friend I put some flour on it, didn't stop. I brought her inside and put some QuikClot on it, didn't stop. Now, about five minutes later it's only gotten worse and I'm quite frightened. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,
