Hi everyone I am new here, looking for some information from experienced chicken owners. I have purchased what I was told 3 silkie hens. I got them at 5 days old and they are now 5 weeks old. The guy who I purchased them from Later said they are gold tops. Which am reading aRe a cross between A silkie x light sussex. Two of the chicks have 4 toes and my 3rd chick has 5 toes. They all have black skin. I chose silkie as I read they dont fly. These also fly around. 🤣 View attachment 2264448

They are definitely not pure silkies. They are some kind of mix.
Flying won't be too much of an issue. Chicks at that age are pretty good flyers, but they'll actually get worse as they grow older.

At that age most chicks get pretty good liftoff and can “fly” a little. Don’t worry that should go away when get get bigger.
Thanks for your reply, that makes sense As they get heavier. Good to hear as this has been worrying me that they will fly over my fences when older.

Thanks for your reply, I am very happy to hear the flying will slow down.👏 Atm they are just taking off, Very cute I must say.

The man you bought them from might have tried to vent sex them, which is tricky even for experienced breeders but certainly possible. Or, he may just have wanted to to get rid of these chicks, no telling cuz we don't know him. Too early to tell from your pics though, 5 weeks is pretty young to sex them by sight unless their sex-linked by color or something.
Cute chicks.
