do they actually crawl.. you can see them moving? I will look again, I looked today and didn't see anything

Yes they actually crawl. They look like pepper grains moving by themselves. Check around her eyes, ears, under the wings, and near the vent. They like damp, warm areas.

I checked not one mite anywhere... I'm so curious about how this could happen. she lives in a coop with only one other hen. any ideas?
