So, I was away for a week and my friend was taking care of my chickens; which he is very good at, but was not able to spend a lot of time checking that the chickens were healthy. When I came back, I found that one of my Silkie hens, Junty, had a large swelling over one eye, but she could still use it. Since then I have noticed her eye slowly getting pushed back until she could not use it. Two days ago I found her in the morning with blood all over her feathers and many feathers missing on the side of her head with the swelling. So I then seperated her, and since then she has not changed much, though occasionally the stuff in her eyelid bleeds (I say stuff because you cannot see her eye any more
). I did some research yesterday and it looks like it must be an abscess, but I wan't people's opinion on this case, and if it is an abscess how I would go about draining it. She does not seem to be in pain, and appears to be in perfect health otherwise.
