I have a pekin duck that was injured and is now living inside. If she heals properly and is able to she'll eventually live back outside with our other ducks. While she's inside I would like to get her diapers because she's making such a mess. I have a few questions about them though.
1) How do you measure to figure out the correct size?
2) Can she still lay eggs while wearing it?
3)Instead of disposable diapers for the inside is there reusable inserts for them?

I can't answer your question about diapers but I am curious..what type of injury did she suffer?

Something got past our electric fence and attacked 2 of our ducks. One didn't make it, but we think she's going to pull through. We think it was a fox most likely. She has severe injuries to the top of her head and the left side of her neck

When mine were attacked I kept the surviving one in a dog kennel in my bedroom I would take her out during the day and clean the kennel while we were outside. Hope she heals quick. Ours is doing great despite losing her bill to just below the nostrils.

Perhaps keep her in an extra storage bin with pine shavings while she recovers? I don't imagine a diaper would be very comfortable and she's stressed enough I'm sure. If you do decide to go with diapers, maybe a cloth diaper that you could wash one and keep and extra clean one on the side to alternate. And if using cloth you could fashion it yourself! I did this with a puppy, but they are built differently than ducks of course.
