I have two Porcelin D'uccles which are about one yr old...They were given to me about 5mos ago, by a woman who takes very good care of her flock. I noticed one had a small spot like this in the pictures, and thought oh he must have bumped it, etc.

Well it got worse on him, even his face looks frazzled, Then I thought maybe it was molting...??? Now both my babies look HORRIBLE!!! any ideas on whats going on? ever seen it before and can it be fixed?

thanks for looking, sorry alot of pics

I just want to know if theres hope, or if Im going to lose them. And will it spread to my flock....

I don't see anything on the face? Can you provide closeups?

There is a feathering condition associated with the lavender gene that causes issues with the shoulder featehrs, particularly in males. I haven't dealt with it, but perhaps someone who can will be able to provide information. If that is the case, this thread would be better located in the genetics section.

Is the other bird in the last pic by any chance a LF rooster? It looks like the little guy is getting 'punked', for lack of a better word.

NO, they arent getting Punked...

The other roo in there was just put in there by DH...withhout consulting me!!! He is a new roo as of 2wks ago...

The Porc. D'uccles had this way before, and let me work on close up pics and see if I can do this...and just change out the pictures.

and where would I get more info on that feathering conditions on the wings, shoulders?....

Ok, I tried to get them better on Photo bucket, hope this works

Ok, these pictures are from the ones taken above...some areas looks pink, of course its there skin, some areas like broken pin feather...?? maybe...and the black spots look like broken off pin feathers that just got brittle..but the what was only on one Porc. D'uccle and only the size of a dime became the size of a quarter,...and then spread wider on one roo.

Then I noticed the other one again, size of a dime, and so on...Both looked beautiful when I got them...if you look at there face, there feathers around the face make them look ragged now.

The eat good....what can I do?? any ideas?

To me it looks like damage from the rooster. Mites would not cause the feather to just break off like that. Separate them from the rooster and sell if they improve and did this just start after the roo was introduced to the hens?

nope not it...Re Read the post...They were alone until recently...I DH just added the other Roo, white one.

The Porc. D'uccles were alone, just them...only one had it when I first got them..size of a dime, then i t grew...then I noticed that my other porc. d'uccle roo got it and now they both have it...and just about 1 1/2wks ago DH put in the other roo...
