I have two old english game bantam hens...they both layed eggs in February, about 8 each, but did not sit on their eggs.

Over the year, my hens are not sitting on their eggs at all forcing me to incubate with other local breeders at a rate of $2/egg. It's getting expensive.

What can I do to get my hens to sit?

Any and all thoughts would help.

Thank you.

You can only encourage a hen to go broody, so there aren't any surefire ways to make them broody. Just keep the nest box in a quiet area and put shavings, straw, etc. inside.
Good luck!
