Hello, me and my girlfriend decided to raise chickens for the first time this year and are wanting to know if we have cockerels before they start crowing. We have 6 in total and and they are all 14 weeks old. 2 silkies, 2 spotted Sussex, and 2 ameraucanas “which are most likely Easter Eggers”. From looking at several other forums we were able to determine that we 100% have 2 so far based on their feathering and attitude. We will try to rehome them with a friend if possible so that we know they will be treated well.
Here’s a picture of all of them
The two whites ones are the cockerels. It’s the others that confuse us.
Here’s one of our Ameraucanas
His/Her tail feather are rounded unlike the other one but they do start to curve a little bit which has us wondering. He’s also pretty calm unless Our silkie rooster gets up in his face.
Here’s our spotted Sussex’s
They both look the same except ones tail kind of splits out. Their combs have us thinking female but their tail feathers we aren’t sure of. I don’t have a picture of the other silkie right now but it’s much smaller than the other and still sounds like it did when it was a baby chick. I will try to take a picture of him when I get the chance. If any more pictures need taken please let me know!!
