HELP: ARE PELLETS TO LARGE FOR 5 WEEK OLD CHICKENS?????????

I have 5 week old R.I.R.'s and they are adorable

but I don't know if the pellets that I am feeding them are too big. i am afraid that if they are not eating I wont find out until it's too late. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pellets are for laying hens - that usually has about 3.5% calcium - way too high for your babies. Use only "starter" feed or "grower" feed which has no more than about 1.5% calcium. Those come in like a powder or a crumble. Don't feed the pellets until they begin to lay, or at least until about 20 weeks. Too much calcium is not good for them.
