I bought 3 RIR chicks in January of this year and was told they were all female. Well I am thinking two of them are Roos and the third is a Hen. You can see the three in the pics below. 2 of them have big red crowns and one has a small crown and is an orange color. I am pretty sure the two dark ones are Roos but the orange one is also acting like a roo and mounting my dominant Bar Rock Hen. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm new to raising chickens, but I was able to spot our cockerel when he was younger than about 5 weeks. He is a white leghorn, and he had patchy feathers, thicker legs, and a pinker comb, and he had a wattle already. If you saw any of those characteristics, I'm sure they are roos. BUT I guess it varies chicken to chicken and breed to breed. The dark ones, I'm convinced are roosters. The light one however, is tricky, just from color difference and comb and wattle size I'll say hen. But the tail feathers are tricky for me. Have any of them crowed? Our cockerel let out an awkward one when he was about 7 weeks.

None have crowed, but that may be because there is an older rooster in the flock, and he crows every morning. The older rooster that crows is half the size of these and very protective of his hens, but he can't fight off three at a time. These three just starter brutalizing my hens. All three ganging up on each hen. I have separated the three of them tonight. The bad thing is all three of them were hand raised and will literally sit on your lap.
