I've read through everything I could find on here and I couldn't find my situation. I have a new laying hen, this may have been her first egg. She's egg bound with the egg in the prolapse. I've been able to push it back in but she keeps straining to push it back out. I've given her calcium citrate. When looking at the prolapse it almost appears as though it's stuck to the egg itself. Is that possible? If so what should I do? I'm also having a hard time finding the exit hole in the prolapse. Is there anything specific I should look for? PLEASE HELP.

Any idea what I could do to try and help? I think I see where the exit is but it's so small. There is also a thin area where it seems like the egg looks and feels stuck to her internally.
Could use Vaseline, petroleum jelly, or some coconut oil to lubricate the area, & opening so it's more slippery.

Give her another Calcium Citrate afterwards, & see if she can get it out on her own before doing anything else.

This happens sometimes with a prolapse but not every time. I would use honey or vaseline, and try hard to find the opening. The vet should be able to surgically remove it. I would ask them to give some calcium with vitamin D, just to help if she has another egg on the way. There can be a good chance she may prolapse again. Hopefully not, but it is common. How old is she? Did she start laying earlier than usual? Here is an older video where the owner finally got the egg out through a slit that was hard to find:
