This chick hatched earlier today and few hours later my kids screamed that it was bleeding and then I saw what appears to be a piece of its intestines sticking out of it. Anyone out there knows what I should do or is this one not going to make it? Thank you

I'd wonder what happened. Was it normal when it hatched? If so you might want to talk with your children...

Sometimes a chick hatches without the yolk being completely absorbed by the chick's body, but this is something you'd have noticed when you took it from the incubator.

I noticed the yold was not absorbed fully. The hatching was not normal. I made a mistake and moved it out of the incubator into a box with no humidity when I noticed the first pip.

There's little hope for it then-sorry. And I'm glad the children didn't accidentally hurt the chick; that would have been horrible for them.

It turned in a sad day after being a very exciting day. We buried it. I feel horrible.

Thank you for all your help.

You're welcome. I do hope it wasn't the only chick.

No it wasn't. We had another one hatch a few days earlier and it is doing well. Thank god.
