HELP ASAP!

I ran inside to quickly write this up, so around 9 one of my hens was screaming to get into a nesting box, so I went to check it out. Next to her, perching was one of my girls, hunched, eyes closed and salivating. Chickens aren't supposed to be doing that, so I knew something was wrong. I picked her up, and placed her into one of my cages to separate sick hens, she just laid down and just looked like she was giving up. I noticed she was also "pushing" her vent, so I first got her a warm bath with Epson salt. While she was laying in the water, I got a few q-tips and some vet rx and began to slowly clean out all of the saliva from her beak. Some of it had a hint of blood, which concerned me even more. She's still breathing, so it's not blocking her lungs. I had her soaking for at least 30 minutes before I picked her up and put her under a heat lamp. I mixed up some save-a-chick electrolyte with some water and started to syringe that into her mouth. She was drinking it, I would put some in her beak, a bit towards the back and she was swallowing. I also had some chick food, mixed a bit of nutradrench in it, placed it in her beak and put a bit of the water mixture in her beak so she would swallow, which she did. I read it could be the flu since she was salivating so much, but I am stumped. She is still under the heat lamp, if anyone has any more suggestions or ideas on what this could be/how to treat it, I'm all ears.

A lot of problems can have salivating.

The salivating is excessive, her comb has flopped over, I really can't see anything else, other than her vent still looking like its pushing. I'm sorry.

Well.. she's gone.. I tried everything and kept checking on her every 30 minutes. I placed her on a field on the top of the hill and covered her with flowers.. R.I.P little one..

so sorry. i wish we could have helped. she must have had a aggressive infection or something. i suggest a necropsy to see if this could be passed on.

Sounds similar to my hen. This morning when I opened the doors to the coop and runs I found her in the corner with her beak actually touching the wall. I picked her up and lots of clear fluid came out of her mouth and nose. I felt her crop and there was some seeds in it, very little but I could feel something. She started to flap her wings pretty aggressively so I put her back on the floor. She went limp and died right then. I have no clue. I was with the chickens yesterday for hours and was watching her and her two breed mates and my barred rocks as well. I saw nothing to concern me. They were all acting perfectly normal. ?????? I'm sad for both of us.

Thanks for the article. I think it may have answered my questing about my hen. I gave them grapes yesterday, I bet she had one stuck. I did cut them in half???

Nope, wasn't a grape. I did a quick necropsy, and found no blockage. thanks for the idea.
