I have 4 wk old chicks that I hatched out. This one is the smallest of the bunch. It keeps scratching at its face, around its eyes and beak. I looked for lice or mites but didn't see any although I don't know how it could have gotten them anyway. I also checked to see if I could see anything stuck in its throat but saw nothing. Is it possible that it is allergic to the bedding I put in there? Is there something else I could be missing? They were on towels for there first week and just got put on some pine shavings yesterday. Whenever it scratches it cheeps very loudly like it is in pain. Please help!!!!!
