I had four eggs in the bator to begin with and 2 pipped yesterday morning. I became concerned when they only made a small hole and then quit trying to hatch all together within the last 32 hours. This afternoon I went ahead and candled the other two that had not pipped only to find one had pipped internally but died before an external pip and the other had not even pipped but died fully formed. The shells are really hard and I think they just couldn't break through.
The two I have left I have started to pull small pieces of shell off at a time, then I wrap them in a warm wet paper towel and put them back in the bator to rest for about an hour at a time.
Am I doing the right thing? I've never hatched ducks before but I have helped chicks out of the shell with great results.
I am just hoping maybe I can get some advice. I really don't want to loose these two babies.
Thanks
