I have a BBB Hen that we got as a chick in the spring of 2016 that has decided to molt. We also have a male but he is not molting. I have checked her for parasites and do not see signs of any so I think this is just a molt. (I see new feathers coming in.) We live in SW Ohio where we have had unseasonably warm weather lately (50's & 60's) but now the temperatures are predicted to go back to more normal winter ranges of highs in the 30's and lows in the 20's and teens. Should I be worried about her being warm enough? Her pen is the under part of our second story deck on our house that is enclosed by brick on one side (our house) and lattice with wire mesh which we have covered with plastic to keep the wind out.

Do I need to consider moving her into our garage? Which is still cold but I could add a heater. She is cranky as hell...Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! :)

I would leave her be. As long as she has a place out of any winds. Turkeys are pretty hardy. I have been reading and seeing odd molts in chickens this season so it's possible she's molting. Where is she losing the feathers from?

She has lost all of her long tail feathers, and some on the sides of her chest and some on her wings. Like I said I can see new feathers coming in too.

Thanks for the reply!!!!
