I would think so. Let me put it this way, when you said 50-60% I did not say anything...lol I say this because I usually jump at telling people not to use that high humidity, (unless lockdown, then I say the more the better...lol) But I was thinking along the same lines as you. That without the top part of the shell to hold some moisture in, it's probably a good idea to have it higher. This is uncharted territory for me, and I'll be surprised if he makes it to hatch (but extrememly happy), but I think we are using the same logic and I agree.I had to set the incubator up last night without giving it time to run to stabilize the temp. It usually is around 99.5, but it was running a little high when I left this morning for school. What humidity would you recommend? I have it running a little higher than usual as literally half of the chick's shell is missing so the moisture can't be held in. The chick's skin looks about as moist as when the chick's first hatch which I am guessing is a good sign?
