Help! Broken leg!

I’m so pleased to announce that sweet Flap managed to stand up all by herself for the first time since her accident! I went out on the porch (where we put her crate during the day so she can socialize) to feed the cats when I looked in on her to see how she was doing and talk to her and there she was! Standing! She wasn’t fully bearing weight on her bad leg, rather using it to help balance her but still putting a little bit of pressure on it. She stood there for 30 seconds before she settled back down, we were all so excited to see her stand by herself and I think she sensed that since she was much more talkative than normal. This little old bird amazes me everyday with her fighting spirit and kind personality. Throughout this whole ordeal she’s never once shown signs of depression or unhappiness of any kind (other than the first couple days when she was in a lot of pain). She’s taking longer to heal but I expect that of a 7 year old hen but I’ll take those little victories.
Im so sorry to hear poor Flap has had this happen to her. Im glad shes recovering. She is so strong!

Yes, she sure is strong. I tell her that all the time even though I know she doesn’t understand what it means. I’m so grateful that she’s improving and continuing to fight. She’s moving around a whole lot more today now that the harder splint has been removed and she has more flexibility to place her leg how she wants.

Well she’s finally back out with her new flock, we moved her in with the bantams because they’re much more gentle and sweet than some of the full sized hens. She’s doing well and is super happy! It’s been a crazy journey and I’m glad it had a happy ending!

This is a wonderful update!
I'm glad to hear she is doing so well and has a flock that she can be with as well.
Happy Ending indeed:)
