Can you brood chicks that have been vaccinated for mareks with chicks that have not been vaccinated? Unthinking, I put a few day olds together - half have been vacc'd, half have not (they are from different sources).

Lord I feel sick to my stomach thinking that I might have exposed my little babies to mareks

Stop worrying. You did absolutely no harm. The Marek's vaccination is actually Turkey Marek's, not chicken Marek's. It is not contagious to other chicks.

The Marek's vaccination does not prevent them from getting Marek's. It prevents the lesions from growing that does the damage. Chickens that have been vaccinated for Marek's can still catch Marek's. All the vaccine does is stop them from being damaged by it.

You did absolutely no harm.

i always thought we needed to wait a few weeks, would love to just have one brooder, how did this turn out for you? anyone else done it?
