I think 19 eggs is a little much, but I've had broodies successfully hatch 15, 16 eggs which I would have thought was too many as well (I don't know how many eggs they sat though)

Wow that’s a lot! 4 of the 19 stopped developing a while back, and I’m kicking myself because I stopped candling them about a week before hatch- there were so many and she got so cross with me! Maybe if I had removed those this wouldn’t be happening. The remaining 7 I put under another broody- one is hatchingI think 19 eggs is a little much, but I've had broodies successfully hatch 15, 16 eggs which I would have thought was too many as well (I don't know how many eggs they sat though)
I tend to get larger hatches when I leave the girls alone BUT it may just be the hens that nest where I can find them arent as good of broodies as the ones that hide their nests more effectively. my game hens are GREAT broodies, so honestly it may be a good bit genetics.Wow that’s a lot! 4 of the 19 stopped developing a while back, and I’m kicking myself because I stopped candling them about a week before hatch- there were so many and she got so cross with me!
