Hello everyone I am new to this group. I look forward to reading everyone's post. I believe my chicken has bumble foot. I need to know what to do. I would love someone who could just come to my house and take it out. I don't feel very comfortable doing it myself unless it's the only choice I have. I just noticed this today so if it has gone to far don't judge me like I said I'm new. Please help me.

It certainly looks like bumble foot to me. It is hard to tell based on the picture, but is there swelling? Is your chicken limping?

There are a lot of great resources here, and online, in general, though I would have to say the typical treatment required is not for the squeamish.

Here are a couple links to threads on BYC showing you your options:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/236649/bumblefoot-surgery-with-pics-and-how-to
https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/303829/vet-suggestion-for-non-invasive-bumblefoot-cure

You can also look on youtube to watch videos of bumble foot surgery being performed.

Good luck!

I don't think anyone will come to your home to do it but, you may ask around at any vet's in your area. You may want to check the links out first. I thought bumble foot has a black "kernel" that needs to be removed. Your bird may have some type of infection going on - it just appears to be swollen and pink. You can also post at "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread.

It does look like bumblefoot and should be corrected to prevent infection from spreading internally (that's what the swelling is). Read up on the links given you by trailrider330. I did my first bumblefoot surgery a few months ago and that 1st link was the most helpful to me. It took me a couple days to read and work my nerve up to doing it but it went very well and was easier than I thought it was going to be. Within just a few days, our girl was running around like normal and you'd never know there had been a problem. If I can do it, you can too!

Good luck to you, hope all goes well. Thanks for joining us!
