2 of my call ducks fully hatched yesterday evening and then the last two were overnight. One of them had a dark grey and slightly yellow yolk sac, I think this one may have pushed out too early. His eyes are slightly open and his navel is still swollen. He can’t stand, walk or sit without falling on his side but it very vocal and trying to move all the time. Is this a niacin deficiency or something more fatal which i can’t treat? Any help would be great!!!

He can’t get himself up from this position and just kicks his legs around, as soon i try to help him stand him he falls straight back down.

Can you get a picture of the yolk site? Sometimes they are just off balance to start right after hatch especially if not fully absorbed. Almost like their belly is "heavy".

That sounds exactly like it!! I just don’t want him to get trampled by the others who are up and walking about. Is that photo okay? He’s quite a wriggler!

That will likely absorb or scab over. If you can take some diluted iodine and dab it to clean it. Don't scratch or try to push it in or anything. You might want to put him in a smaller shoe box next to the others or a clear plastic tub where he can see everybody but they can't trample him for a little while. You can put a stuffed animal in with him. You can kind of use the stuffed animal and some towels to prop him up too. Hopefully you're around to help keep them upright. They can pass quickly if they get stuck on their back. Pretty baby!
