HELP!! Call duck falling iver

Great news! Glad baby is all better! Enjoy them. Call ducks are so fun. I have a hatch starting today and tomorrow!

How did your hatch go?! I hope it went well. This may be a cheeky ask but that same duckling now has a wet bum, it’s not pasty butt as he doesn’t have anything attached to him. He is constantly trying to get at it and seems like he’s crying out a lot. Do you know anything about this? He also holds it above the water. He’s eating and drinking loads so is it something worth worrying about?

Can you post a picture of his little bum? Do you have any pictures of him attempting to swim with his bum up?

When you say what is it just from him messing with it?

My hatch went okay. I have four little ducklings that I have shout for a friend and another little hatch later this week.

Yes I’ll post a picture now, I don’t have any pictures of him swimming but i can next time he goes in. From what i’ve read on the internet i think he may have pneumonia so i’m not too optimistic. Glad your hatch went okay! Hope the next one does too!!

Is this clear enough? It’s just always wet and hasn’t dried up.

Is the skin red or irritated or just the feathers wet? They start growing in a few days after hatch so maybe it's itchy? The others aren't doing it?

I wouldn't worry too much if the skin looks OK and he's doing normal ducky things.

It seems a bit more red in that area but not extremely noticeable. No the other 2 are doing well, just concerned as already lost one to suspected pneumonia so don’t really want to lose another. I’ll try not to worry I think I’ve got the usual mother duck syndrome. Thank you so much!!
