I had a chick hatch last night.I had to assist cuz some part of the night the humidity dipped down really low so the chick got “shrink wrapped”.the chick is moving around perfectly fine and very active but it’s feathers seems to be “glued” down to parts of the body and some of the membrane is still stuck to it.what do I do?its completely dry!

Take a paper towel, wet it and ring it out to where it’s still a lil wet. take the chick and wrap the chick with it and hold it near the bottom of your brooder still under the lamp so you don’t freeze it. Your chick should be okay!!! The humidity in the room should eventually freshen up the skin and the hairs/feathers will start to fluff out!!!! Hope I am some sorta help!!!

I will try it!once I get the stupid brooded the correct temperature and stay there!its still in the incubator with the other 4 it hatched with.like I said the little chick is very active and moving around!

Well good luck fellow hatcher!!! Your brooder should be alright, I don’t have a thermometer in mine, I just put a heat lamp on it and put em in there when the dry/fluff
