My 5 day old chick was healthy and happy, now tonight she doesn't look good. She was hatched in an incubator, I gave her and several other chicks to a broody hen, who accepted her the first 2 days and then suddenly attacked her and 2 others. I took them back in and they didn't seem to have any noticeable injuries. they seemed OK other than stressed.
I hate to separate her, because she wants to be near the other two. Should I separate her?
Not sure if this is a result of the hen attacking her. That she may have gotten injured even though there are no visible signs. Or stressed, or an actual illness.
thanks for any advise you may have, I'm afraid she may not make it through the night.
Tonight she is lethargic, not moving around much, she waddles forward a bit without straightening her legs and her wings are flopped to the sides. She seemed dehydrated, so fed her carefully some water through a dropper. Then put a drop of apple cider vinegar in the water. She seemed to perk up but After a while she threw up some clear liquid. But my son said she vomited a bit of clear liquid earlier in the day, that I didn't know about.
Have you ever seen this, or know what could be plaguing her. I hate to separate her, because she wants to be near the other two. Should I separate her?
