its only a day old, it wasn't doing this before it was only excessively peeping, now its eyes are closed and looks like its gasping for air! with a clicky sound to go with! i have wood shavings in my brooder is it possible it could have eatin these and caused this? its head is pointing to the sky..

It was likely hatched with wry neck, a vitamin E deficiency. If it's genetic, it may not make it. But try getting some vitamin E 400iu down its beak. If you have Poultry Nutri-drench, give that to it.

Turns out my chicks were eating the wood shavings I had as bedding, I had to put in a towel instead, it's not exactly sanitary but its better than risking my chicks choking to death. I massaged the chicks throught and it can at least peep now. fairly certain theres a wood shaving stuck down there, I cant see it. I don't know what to do. on top of that despite me bandaging another chicks crooked toes straight it still can't walk right, what a mess.

If the problem is due to impacted crop from ingesting wood shavings, you would feel a hard mass in the crop of this chick. Tiny bits of coconut oil slipped inside the beak will soften the mass and help it go down. Offering some chick grit will also help. Also, make sure these chicks are getting adequate hydration.

Generally, day old chicks aren't really consuming anything, so if you have impacted crop in a chick so soon after hatch, it's rare. I would suspect other issues are in play, instead or in addition to impacted crop.

Couldn't be. its crop was completely empty. its around 1 and a half days old now, I thought I heard its stomach growl too, but I don't know. I've put a few drops of water down its beak and its drinking fine, but despite my efforts it actually doesn't know how to drink on its own yet.
