Hello
I'm posting this for a friend who's internet access is out right now.
Her chicken was just bitten by a rat, on the crown, and she is obviously concerned about how to disinfect and how to treat in the coming days, what to look for, should the chicken be kept separate from the others, etc...
Thanks for all of your help!

I would tell your friend to clean the wound with an antibacterial soap and warm water then pat dry and apply neosporin without pain relief onto the wound and repeat before adding her back to the flock I would apply some blu kote to the wound so the other chickens won't peck at it.

Clean the wound daily. She could put some Iodine on it, if there is any around. And make sure that she looks for infections every time she washes. If she does that, it should heal shortly.
